Who wouldn’t be in love with capitalism? Definitely the 1 %. Or the 0,0003125 %(this number is just a gross estimation of how many super-rich families’ members are there). As you may have understood, I am joking with the 1 %. Because even they don’t get their “fair” share. If you think that making 300,000 – 500,000 USD per year is a lot, you don’t know the super-rich. So we should contemplate an alternative to capitalism.
When the 2007–2008 financial crisis hit, even the mainstream media (sic!) were telling people that Wall Street (aka the super-rich groups) was sitting on trillions of dollars. A very low number compared to the reality. Capitalize the profit, socialize the loss.
Top minds and alternative for capitalism
The smartest minds create such complex and elaborate theories that even the highly intellectually gifted (IQ 145+) are clueless. For example, the Theory of consumption, Game theory, Efficiency wage theory, Behavioral economics, Contract theory, Mechanism design theory, and New growth theory.
For the record, I am not a socialist or communist. I detest the right-left spectrum those with influence are slipping to us (link).
I get that Americans and the Commonwealth want to be the only ones who have a good educational system (link). So if there are 10 139 (approximately) Americans with an IQ of 160+, there can be huge discoveries (if other countries basically cannot discover anything). Even if it the rare IQ means talent for economics. Nobody serious will tell you that there are no vital alternatives to capitalism. Even if it means it may be some hybrid with capitalism.
If you are among the top talented, do such studies, not only it not resonate in the heavily politicized (and, of course, academia is equal to politics) universities, but you will be expelled, your research will be marginalized, you will be silenced by media and maybe run by a car.
Negative consequences of capitalism – the racket of the ruling class
While capitalism can bring someone to heaven, it may be hell for some less fortunate counterparts. Factors such as education, IQ, talents, creativity, mental resilience, personality traits (ambitiousness) or social mobility more than matter.
As Al Capone famously proclaimed: “Capitalism is the legitimate racket of the ruling class.”
I read a Czech business magazine once about a personal banker who said there was a billionaire with a cheap car and there were people whose spending we can barely imagine (a few luxurious cars a day).
But some people not only live unhappy lives thanks to this social system but it actually brutalizes them. Therefore, there should be alternatives for capitalism.
Someone just cannot get a job while it may be unimaginable for someone more fortunate (therefore the classes misunderstand each other).
Chronic unemployment may lead to sociopathological phenomena such as poverty, substance abuse, homelessness, crime, violence, and even murders.
Given income inequality, someone may pay his or her dues and still cannot make it.
Communists were destroying lives by incarcerating, torturing and killing people. Capitalism has its legal ways. Lack of basic needs, you can die on the street or have health access restricted.
Put toghether a team of the best economists
The human genome project, the Large Hadron collider, the Earth system model development, the Sloan digital sky survey, and last but not least – the Manhattan project.
All of these may have cost tens of billions of dollars, so why not to try get a team of the top economic minds (and this doesn’t exclude programmers, physicists, and mathematicians, as I find the situation urgent) and not start the whole project
I strongly believe the fruits of the labor would be present in a very short time. And we would save lives and suffering.
Why will supporters never learn
I know a businessman who admits the richer owner of a company he works for (not so connected to politicians) makes billions meanwhile, they get a few bucks compared to it. He defends him that he gets them the investment. But he still gives them a very thin slice of earned money.
But this actually doesn’t matter because people are fooled by primitive animalistic ideologies that both (right-wing, and left-wing) promote capitalism (and ideologies served as something in the African savannah).
Thanks to phenomena explainable by Darwinism we seek no alternative to capitalism because everyone is infected by the ideologies. These are journalists, politicians, and influential persons. Only a few super-rich have a good laugh about it.
Conclusion of alternative for capitalism
I am convinced that humankind has more to offer than this obsolete system, no matter how great it was when it had uplifted living standards with the Industrial Revolution.
And since it was and is brutal, fake alternatives have followed – socialism (including National Socialism), communism, or – at worst – anarchism. It has cost us hundreds of millions of lives, and we continue on – with capitalism claiming (indirectly) an unimaginable number of lives (healthcare inaccessibility – you will die on the street; environmental degradation, unsafe working conditions, wars and conflicts, food insecurity, exploitation of vulnerable populations, and so on).
So if we get rid of background political structures and vote reasonably, then we may let the smartest develop something. As far as now, there is zero chance.
