It’s so saddening how even really bright individuals are impulsive when it comes to the media and politics.
A scandal breaks out. You would expect that the core will be rationally resolved with rational moves leading to the right conclusion (for example, widespread corruption, racial issues, gun issues, crony capitalism) no matter if the media continue to cover the story.
No, the media heightens the public mood, and then it fades away. In 2012, I remember the Czech media have been uncovering scandal after scandal and people were ready to go into the streets.
Then the media ceased to produce such a climate and guess what? People’s emotions have faded away as well. The puppet-masters deliberately restrained the media and it was over. They don’t even recall something like this has been happening.
People are really animalistic and evolution didn’t equip us with the ability to control society with millions of members, therefore changing our living conditions drastically via politics is utopian.
