The global formal educational system

There are tens of thousands of geniuses in developing countries. I believe there are people with brains as John von Neumann possessed. Yet their education system makes it impossible to attain such positions where they would capitalize on their talent.

Or look at countries like the Czech Republic. The smartest ones go to the business, programming, engineering or emigrate. The Czech universities lack funding, their professors are lazy, don’t publish and I also believe (but I don’t have any evidence for it) their IQs are lower compared to their Anglo-Saxon counterparts.

The key components of people going to universities should be IQ, talent, personal characteristics (ambitiousness, work ethic). Rote memorizing is also key to learn something but it should not be overdone because it prefers people with good rote memory yet with no above-mentioned characteristics. Look at the East Asian universities, the rote memorizing and quirky culture killed it all.

We are talking about universities now but what about tens of percent of Indian children ending up with their formal education learning fractions. The educational system in many developing countries is almost nonexistent.

Pupils or students should be taught mathematics (even in a creative way), programming (ditto), critical thinking, cognitive biases, formal fallacies, nowadays analytical philosophy. Making your own Access databases, your own Excel blueprints. Painting is also a good thing for creativity, maybe producing your own music. The school should develop and extend your IQ, creativity, talents, and critical thinking. Team building, emotional quotient may also be useful.

All this should be happening on a global basis with the super-rich and developed countries paying the check.
