No doubt politicians, media, and their puppet masters had always the intention to control their respective populations. But now the establishment has control over us it never had.
Post letters interceptions, authoritarian rule, ideologies, propaganda, surveillance, police control, political persecution. You may object some of it is not happening now. And you are right. They do it more subtly, yet more heavily in the end.
History of establishment control
Throughout history, establishments have employed a variety of strategies to exert control over their populations. These strategies have often involved the consolidation of political power through authoritarian rule. And the establishment of legal systems to enforce obedience and punish dissent. Authoritarian forms of government, characterized by centralized power in the hands of a single ruler or ruling elite, have been a common feature of many societies. They used legal system to regulate behavior, suppress opposition, and protect the interests of the ruling elite, creating mechanisms for maintaining control and enforcing compliance.
Establishments have used propaganda to shape public opinion, manipulate perceptions, and maintain ideological conformity. State-sponsored propaganda has been disseminated through media, education, and cultural institutions. So they reinforced the legitimacy of the ruling elite and justifying their authority. Ideologies emphasizing themes such as nationalism, patriotism, religion, or loyalty to the ruling elite have been promoted to maintain social cohesion and discourage dissent.
History of surveillance
Surveillance and control mechanisms have been employed to monitor and regulate the activities of the population. Surveillance techniques, ranging from monitoring communication networks to public spaces, have been used to identify and suppress dissent. Secret police forces have operated outside the bounds of legal oversight, surveilling, infiltrating, and suppressing opposition movements to maintain internal security. So social hierarchies, based on factors such as wealth, class, race, or gender, have been perpetuated to reinforce power differentials and limit upward social mobility.
History of economic control and dissent suppression
Economic control has been another key aspect of establishment control. Therefore, establishments have controlled access to resources such as land, wealth, and natural resources, exerting economic control over the population. Monopolization of resources has created dependence and compliance among the population. They used taxation and redistribution to maintain control over economic resources and redistribute wealth in ways that reinforced the power and privilege of the ruling elite.
Consequently, they also employed coercive measures, including violence and repression to suppress dissent and maintain control. Military force, police brutality, and state-sponsored violence have been used against perceived enemies of the regime. Political persecution of dissenters, activists, and political opponents has been common, with individuals targeted for persecution, imprisonment, or execution. All of it because to eliminate challenges to the establishment’s authority. Overall, you can characterize the history of how establishments controlled their populations by a range of strategies aimed at maintaining power, suppressing dissent, and perpetuating the status quo. Understanding this history is essential for recognizing patterns of oppression and resistance and working towards more just and equitable societies.
What kind of establishment do we have now?
Our establishment creates (speaking of the US) hundreds of patron-client hidden networks that completely disrupt the whole political process.
And what matters the most in having the power? Money! The Big Five (banks or families) exert control over every single movement of everything that happens in America.
The US manifests such inequality that is similar to developing countries. So they have militarized police now!
The establishment has control over us – media and social media
The media belongs to the same culprits I mentioned earlier. The influence cliques exert the power of media without having ownership.
While this way was the main manner of how to control people, social media came with a big entreé.
So mass surveillance of your personal text messages, places you have been, photos, and so on are vital ways to not only discredit the masses but also how compromise future politicians or influential people.
Establishment and AI
Do you think the Big Tech is developing AI just for free? You may object it will serve to future profits and you are partly right. However, the core is to make AI even better, and, of course, how to control the population.
A massive amount of personal data is shifted with precise analysis of how to control the masses.
In 2024, AI is designed to be conducted exactly the way the establishment desires. If you demand something they don’t want to, the AI will strictly refuse. It alters results so desirable (by the establishment) results are made.
The same old things – phone and internet surveillance
We all know we are wiretapped so this chapter chapter may be redundant. But internet surveillance is even something bigger. I know very I mentioned social media earlier but this is because it has a special place.
Big Brother knows much better than you what you had been doing online 20 years ago. Of course, it may be used against you, especially when the regime may change.
Brain chips and genome knowledge
The current novelty is brain chips which makes the whole situation even more dangerous.
Obtaining your own thoughts, regulating them, and using them to their advantage is way extreme way the situation has been pathed so far.
They destroy your own thought processes and eliminate those against the establishment.
Also, genom knowledge can be misused to assess how you behave, and what preferences you may have.
Conclusion
As I said, the establishment always had its way how to control us. However, in the modern tech era, everything has gotten out of control.
They measure your every step, while you are unknowing. It doesn’t look like something dangerous, because it is subtle in its nature.
So they have won without repression so far. We will see the next steps.
