A truly moral man. I have never seen such an individual

People distinguish between good (moral) and bad people. And since evolutionary biology, game theory and evolutionary psychology present human morality as something animalistic, my previous divide of good and bad people is gone.

And even if you imagine our current Western morality (even though individuals have different systems) would be correct, there is still no existence (or chance) of a serious man. Because everyone has their flaws.

Believing in serious individuals is childish fairytales things adhered by majority of population.

I used to think morality made no sense

When I started gaining some philosophical insight, I thought morality was senseless. Because it doesn’t matter how many people are born, how much they suffer or experience joy.

Yes, it still makes no sense. To calculate the number of potential genetic combinations, you would multiply the number of sperm by the number of eggs. For example, if there are 100 million sperm and 1 million eggs available for fertilization, the total number of potential genetic combinations would be 100 million multiplied by 1 million. It would result in 100 trillion possible combinations.

Every single step (even when you buy a meal) is a moral step. By buying a meal, you promote someone’s steps which results in other extremely interconnected moral actions – for example, someone isn’t born.

Imagine people stopping all their activities only to bring the most happiness to an infinite number of consciousnesses. The world would turn to complete chaos. Not only doesn’t morality do this but its multi-steps lead to outcomes where unimaginable suffering is present – extremely poorly funded medicine development cannot treat a lot of illnesses (causing unimaginable pain), giving someone a sentence makes him get tortured in jail, poor education systems cause socio-pathological phenomena (murders, unemployment, criminality, politics full of front-parading shadow eminences), capitalism encourages prey-like competing; reckless behavior can cause divorce and short-lasting marriages (with kids already born), bad upbringing can cause a car accident (where “innocent” (but not innocent in reality, because everyone has some power in society) people die; poor foreign aid causes billions of people to suffer. Just because of animalistic laws we live by. (250 Arguments for Atheism, Jan Bryxí 2025)

She did nothing wrong, she was innocent

I DO NOT approve murder. But I have seen many court hearings where survivors went like: “She did nothing wrong. She was a decent person.” I couldn’t contain my laughter.

Murder isn’t funny and it is an awful moral step. But people compete for scarce resources and guess what? Thanks to the murdered person, because she or he has overtaken the job position, someone didn’t have a baby. She or he enables Global North vs. Global South exploitation. A 2023 report indicated that 68,000 Americans die each year because they lack access to necessary healthcare. Not to mention the lack of medical development.

Sir, morality is important

When I was finishing my first edition of Arguments for Atheism in 2023, I was corrected by one reputable Czech analytic philosopher. Morality is important.

We need road rules, cannot murder each other. Some rules must guide the government and so on.

And of course, he was right. But that means some random people exist, meanwhile their outcome is to huge part devoid of any morality’s consequences.

So what should the real morality look like?

Infinite number of consciousnesses to experience infinite joy. That was my result. I heard about total utilitarianism, so I have kind of added hedonic elements to it.

Even if current morality was correct, I have never seen a truly moral man

Let’s pretend our current Western morality (even though insatiable appetite of public to reintroduce death penalty, torture in prison, harsh sentences, exploiting of developing countries) makes sense.

But every individual has their own moral system, so a truly moral man is impossible from this standpoint.

And even if it is, people are imperfect and sinful to an unbelieveable degree.

No longer concerned about war heroes

We have war heroes, maybe moral men. But we have wars. And the “true heroes” may have fought the war because of some evolutionary adaptations.

We celebrate politicians, then hang them or vice versa. This is truly an ape-like society.

The Gaussian curve is relentless

If one out of 1,000,000 fulfills to some degree criteria of a moral man, there is 10 such people in the Czech Republic. But everyone in sinful and imperfect.

Moral man: While we will never see a truly moral individual

AI is immoral itself (see here and here). We live in a facade democracy where the super-rich rule. There is no push for sensible genetic improvement or changing the current moral system.

We live in a truly animalistic morality, no sensible morality that would truly mirror philosophy will be created anytime soon.
