Imagine duck or dog believing in God. They can’t. They are not smart enough. But they also don’t possess cognitive biases, formal fallacies and critical thinking.
Our brilliant intelligence possesses a dark side. If you or I were willing to devote the time for it, we would invent 10 000 religions with completely different explanations of the world. Different Gods, different everything.
Imagine some model or system. You – with your intelligence – can put it upside-down. There are thousands of varieties of how it can be.
We – therefore – are right or wrong about evolution, creationism, alternative medicine, parapsychology etc. But we are also wrong in terms of science.
No one can count how many junk studies are being released now. Even the titans whose theories proved right were wrong on something.
Yes, science is difficult and complex therefore it can be painfully wrong. However, science – contrary to pseudosciences – prove things. There must be some evidence.
That makes science different from religion and other pseudosciences and we are sure the single one explanation is right contrary to the 10 000 possibilities.
