Nobody is, of course, talking about complete control of politicians, which means eradication of lobbyists, crooks, movers-and-shakers, super-rich groups, and lodges. No country has it.
Mass media uncovering the extremely complex constellations of those aforementioned, educational institutions how to vote in the best manner with lifetime duration for all citizens. Total ignoring of cheap political marketing, all parties included in mainstream media, no secret services (both official secret services and hidden ones) influences at all. Politics based on data, statistics, and rationality. But as I am saying, no country has it.
After the Velvet Revolution, the politicians were promising that we were going to surpass Austria and Germany economically. The Czechs with subpar culture, with having been on par with the West economically centuries ago were supposed to make it. What a fail and a non-starter! Not only people were fooled by politicians pretending that they meant it, but the political culture was submerged in swamps.
A new prophet-savior had been emerging right after the preceding one. I will solve all your problems, yes, you cannot and are unable to control us at least a bit but I will bring order and abundance without the control. A corruption scandal one after another and failures to execute important reforms became standards. As with every “new” regime, it was blaming the preceding one. Scaring of the return of communists was funny because every political party was controlled by capitalists.
The country is something between developing and developed (which is, of course, very controversial). And why does the country isn’t a complete failure? George Soros put it right – the country is neighboring Germany.
The turbulent 90s created oligarchy with one oligarch dominating the visible political scene. People with higher intelligence were wondering why people had chosen him, nobody could have been worse. The president was a drunkard with total disdain for people because they weren’t so intelligent and successful.
The worldwide corruption fight initialized by those above the oligarchs had a huge impact in Czechia, far more significant than in other countries. No results in the future, however.
The Czechs have mental retardation and mental illnesses when it comes to politics but Americans wouldn’t stand an atheist president. Who is more sick?
