Stalin as a freedom of speech proponent

We are living in a perverse world where only limited freedom of speech exists (excluding the USA). You can say something and you will be prosecuted.

It is allowed to speak some opinions, but only those one suitable to the ruling elites. And if you touch some powerful groups you will be run over by a car.

So Stalin was a great freedom of speech defender. You could have praised Stalin and his philosophy (or communist philosophy in general). You were allowed to speak freely but only praising the ruling elite.

Saying something against Stalin equaled certain death or harsh persecution. But there was freedom of speaking.
