New recreational drugs? Governments should pay billions of dollars to develop them

Around 1 106 900 US residents died from drug overdoses from 1968 to 2020. What a horrible number! And not to think about the horrible suffering drug addiction causes.

So am I kidding you? New drugs developed by governments? Drugs like heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine are extremely addictive and harmful. On the contrary, MDMA and some natural drugs have a discussable level of addiction and harm.

Thus funding research for new drug development would lessen addiction potency and heighten harm reduction to a completely different level.

Imagine complete euphoria and pleasurable feelings without getting addicted, with little harm to your body and, a low risk for overdose. A drug alcohol is a mild euphoriant for and is far more dangerous.

Societal outcomes would also improve. Massively lowered medical funds, saving of treatment money, and finally fewer incarceration rates so people would still get jobs so socio-pathological phenomena such as crime would lessen.

So why this thing to eradicate unimaginable suffering is not proceeding? The current state of business is that drugs are criminalized, and organized crime is flourishing making some countries close to failed states. But the big banks are laundering money for dreug cartels with no punishment.

If the formal-educational system can produce top scientists, we should be also able to develop completely different kinds of drugs that may change the world and eradicate culturally ingrained alcohol.
