Why should the world have Venezuela ostracized?

Venezuela is experiencing the fruits of a failed state. The total humanitarian crisis takes a toll on every single citizen. No food, electricity, clean water, health care to name a few. While there must be a culprit (partly) and, yes, it is the US, the country should be treated in the harshest manner in terms of every single country in the world taking proper steps. In my opinion, Venezuela should be ostracized.

What is happening in Venezuela?

Venezuela is in the midst of a devastating humanitarian crisis, with widespread food and medicine shortages affecting millions. Hyperinflation has driven the cost of basic goods beyond the reach of most people, leading to severe malnutrition and hunger. Families often have to skip meals, and children suffer from stunted growth due to the lack of proper nutrition. Long queues for food and rationing have become common, yet even with these measures, many cannot find the essentials needed to survive. Public services, including electricity and clean water, have deteriorated, making daily life increasingly difficult for the majority of the population.

The healthcare system has collapsed, leaving hospitals without basic medical supplies, drugs, or properly functioning equipment. Doctors are forced to operate in unsanitary conditions, and many patients with chronic diseases like diabetes, heart conditions, or cancer go untreated. The rise in preventable diseases and a lack of vaccines has further exacerbated the public health crisis. Infant mortality and maternal deaths have surged, reflecting the deep breakdown in health services. This complete collapse has led to suffering on a massive scale, especially among the most vulnerable populations.

In response to these conditions, over seven million Venezuelans have fled the country, creating one of the largest refugee crises in the world. This mass exodus has overwhelmed neighboring countries, which struggle to absorb the influx of migrants. Inside Venezuela, political repression has added to the misery. As those who speak out against the government face intimidation or imprisonment. The ongoing economic collapse, coupled with political dysfunction, ensures that the crisis remains dire with no immediate end in sight, leaving the population trapped in worsening poverty and despair.

The US footsteps

One would be very naive to think the sole superpower (as in 2024) has no connection to this extraordinarily bad situation.

First, the US wants to ensure that when someone is an enemy (from Hugo Chavez to today), they will get them.

Second, they don’t like any leftist government that would make the region go in a different way (to the left).

They also have limited access to their natural resources and the Big Banks, Big Oil, and multinational companies – all of this owned by our beloved super-rich families – have their opportunities ruined.

Consequently, the Venezuelan government also doesn’t fit into their World Order.

No matter what the US has done, Venezuela should be ostracized

Such a brutal and horrible treatment of Venezuelan citizens shouldn’t go without a harsh-hitting response.

I completely get that the US and its allies are intentionally worsening the situation. But the world shouldn’t be lukewarm to such an ordeal.

Conclusion: What should the world do?

In my opinion, every single country (and I know it is utopian) should have Venezuela ostracized.

It would be harsh for its citizens, but the government would eventually fall.

Also, a threat of military intervention may be helpful. Venezuela has no nukes, so the outcome would be different than in the North Korean example.
