How the right-left spectrum disappeared in Europe

The everlasting, vigorous fight between the left and right in Europe is beyond the memory of those born in the 2000s.

Who has more scandals? Who steals more? Whose political marketing is better? The debate revolved around changing taxes and sometimes even reforming the economy and health care. Everything followed either right-wing or left-wing policies. As our readers know, evolutionary psychology (even though not a true science) suggests that ideologies served our ancestors in the African savanna. And they are very detrimental now.

Both the left and the right had equal access to the mainstream media. The powerful groups bet both on the left and right.

In the United States, politics still largely follows the traditional left-right divide, whereas Europe’s political landscape has changed dramatically.

The left-wing parties suffered brutal losses. Populists became powerful more than before. No fights now. They calmed down. They definitely don’t tax the rich or increase taxes, but the duel is somehow over.

Who is to blame? Some blame globalization, economic phenomena. Since I am familiar with the situation, I blame the globalists (bankers, super-rich families). Yes, local structures (in my country, these are oligarchs) may also benefit from it.

They don’t care about the disadvantaged, yet don’t want a revolution

One former Czech politician who publicly questioned which super-rich family owns the world said that the international elite that influence every country (maybe except North Korea) don’t care about the poor and the ill.

And he was correct. While they can divert their riches to the tax haven, they don’t want people to overthrow them. And this man knows the political backstage very well.

Do we really want the right-left spectrum and the super-rich?

That was a rhetorical question. We obviously don’t. People should be altruistic and, in the tradition of analytic philosophy, make precise arguments. And right-wing ideology is meant to benefit only a small portion of the population.

We should vote for parties with a common program and get rid of the bankers, super-rich families, oligarchs, lobbyists and crooks.

Media outlets free from advertising, checking one another whether they are being manipulated by interest groups and strict control over politicians (one little scandal and you or your whole party has to go) would do the trick.
