Despite people denying being influenced by political commercials and TV with the obvious agenda, the opposite is true. People love establishment news offering only those parties tied to the super-rich groups. It same goes with social media.
And what do the lobbyists and super-rich do? They completely destroy the political system (they are damaging the political process with their infinite feuds) to the citizens’ detriment. Without the lobbyists and the super-rich, the air would be so fresh. Brand new and colossal reforms would take place.
The scientists would be free to develop new fuel (the oil lobby doesn’t want this), and cancer treatment would be able to develop with money saved from corruption or larger redistribution (for example, Wall Street is sitting on trillions in cash). Huge education reform could be executed. All the agenda would lead to better well-being.
But people succumb to populism, don’t want reforms that would significantly improved quality of life (and those reforms hurt), don’t prevent political polarization, cannot get rid of the Iron law of oligarchy (lobbyists, mover-and-shakers, lodges, secret services, crooks), have little understanding what political capital is (and how a politician acquires it), tolerate political marketing (and even Goebbels didn’t manipulate with people this way), push politicians to shot-term solutions (even because of the election terms; one politician commence something, the next one scrap it), cannot make politics transparent, cannot force politicians not to steal so apparently (an estimated US$2.6 trillion are stolen annually through corruption in the USA), don’t want the campaigns to be transparent, cannot see that media have interests (and their content is adjusted to extreme degree), don’t know that 98 % of politics is in the background, force politicians to succumb to public opinions while he or she is more eligible to make decisions, don’t know what politics is about (balancing various interests, so politicians have to lie in order to save their bottom), have little understanding that every politician wears off, but this is not a solution to elect a new one.
And what about the journalists? They succumb (or in some cases, they don’t) to the enormous pressure the super-rich groups are exerting over the media (and over the politicians). Journalism is never independent no matter what the lying sheets are telling you. Even if we get rid of the aforementioned things, the rags are never independent!
People should pay for add-free media (because this is a way to exert control) that have no proprietor with services that would investigate and uncover the influences (and there would be still influences but lessened).
One prominent Czech journalist stated that the Czech politicians think they are better than journalists and the Czech journalists think they are better than the politicians. And his opinion? They are on the same level. Truly sad.
