Nobody can imagine a critic so harsh on the USA as Noam Chomsky is. But his presence started to be so stable and expectable that makes me think he is a part of the US establishment.
This genius strongly believes that he is able to reproduce complicated things to blue-collar workers with simple language. Non-starter.
Noam Chomsky had uttered only a few positive things on the US address. Mainly the freedom of speaking privilege (which I completely agree on).
I absolutely understand that criticizing China or Russia is not viable in the way that you basically cannot change anything, you will only get killed. So dissidents have always been my admiration. So even because of that the US is my aim. Yes, some secret service can get me or kill me. But I am okay with that.
However, even I do have something to say positive about the US with the aforementioned freedom of speaking (which is, by the way, something unimaginable in Czechia where totalitarianism thrives): promoting democracy (where there are the super-rich groups’ business interests) – given by its big economy and large and capable army (yes, I have something to say something positive about US Army – even despite its war crimes); in exceptional cases in reality (not just by plain political statements) enforcing non-economic human rights in foreign countries; humanitarian aid; not killing its own people on a mass scale; a small part of cultural influence can be positive; and support for refugees.
But why Noam Chomsky may be part of the establishment? I have never heard him uttering who controls the USA from the background. Never mentioning them is weird. He may think that it would get him killed but I don’t think so.
Maybe he made a deal with the secret services that they would not assassinate his character. Never mentioned Epstein even though he must have known he had been involved with the super-rich groups controlling the country.
He stands out for academic freedom but is delusive anarchist, a movement that has been completely disproved.
I cannot help but Mr. Chomsky’s attitude looks so subtle and gentle to me that when someone says “the US establishment”, I always imagine Noam Chomsky with it.
