I know this may sound as unrealizeable. But imagine a country where no matter what race, religion, or culture are you from, they accept you in it. But such a country already exists and they call it the USA. From the normal morality standpoint, it suffers from huge economic inequality, a broken justice system, a broken political system, the crisis of the homeless and mentally ill, etc. So what about moving every person with a good political culture into one country?
The USA is not good for people with a good political culture
The USA, compared to other countries, used to have a pretty good political culture. In 2024, however, it reminds me of the turbulent Eastern European political cultures.
In heavily evidence-based literature, it is proven and it should be an inventory of every educated person that the country is ruled by a few super-rich families and their bankers.
But this is not the end. The extended clientelist groups, including crooks, movers-and-shakers, lobbyists, secret services, and lodges (without mentioning the super-rich families), have enormous influence over politicians, judges, attorneys, and repressive and espionage agencies.
An average American thinks that corporations buy laws in the legislative system. They know about lobbyists. They are aware of legislative corruption. Yet they don’t do anything with it and are waiting like animals for the slaughter. But back in the times, even newspapers were writing about the Robber Barons (aka the super-rich families).
A very little they can do with it. Basically nothing. A third of the population is feeble-minded, roughly half have below-average intellect, and every eight is either alcoholic, dementia-stricken, or mentally deficient. So every person with good political culture is something as a non-starter.
Why even supersmart people won’t save it?
It doesn’t matter whether you are an engineer, medical doctor or nuclear scientist. Homo sapiens are programmed to practice politics in small hunter-gathering communities.
So even high IQ, intelligence in a generalized way or in a broader sense cannot save it.
A utopia: Every person with a good political culture should move to a single country
But if you see through the curtain, the politics is full of patron-client relationships destroying the well-being of every single citizen.
If 10 million people with the best world’s political culture build a country, everything would change.
No corporate corruption which actually nobody purposefully measures, no dirty corruption (for example, a huge part of the US’s GDP gets stolen), and all the politics would be transparent.
The political process, as we see in 2024 in the US, is more than dysfunctional, and in a country where every person with a good political culture prevails would be more than dynamic. Actually, there would be no comparison.
No waiting centuries for enacting the tons of needy laws, everyone blocking each other. Just truly serving its citizens.
The educational system wouldn’t serve the super-rich, so students would learn how to kick out the background forces out of politics. No bipartisanship would exist. Does your party not collaborate on the common issue? Then it is out of parliament.
There would be the super-rich but without any influence on the executive, legislative, and judiciary powers.
The best economy, science and the richest country
Since the government would invest massive resources in research and development, the country’s universities would be the best in the world. A massive brain drain would occur from private companies to governmental basic research.
And since the politicians wouldn’t be involved in endless clientelist feuds, the country’s economy, based on knowledge, would be the best in the world.
The highest GDP (nominal) and GDP (PPP) with salaries highest in the world.
Also, the country would be a leading technological power.
The USA would nuke such a country because they want to maintain the current patron-client system
Nothing can happen without Uncle Sam’s approval. They want to maintain unregulated capitalism, wars, and huge international patron-client system (also known as the world order).
So anything the US detests would meet with a quick end. Thus, they would use any soft or hard power to destroy such countries. The ruling elites (the official and background ones) have shown with uttermost callousness that they don’t care how many million people they kill: “An estimated 3.6-3.8 million people have died indirectly in post-9/11 war zones, bringing the total death toll to at least 4.5-4.7 million and counting. The US would do anything it could to stop such a country from existing. Economic policies and soft power wouldn’t work since there would be no clientelism, so they would have to use hard power or even nuclear weapons.
Utopia is a utopia and political cultures will remain the same
But no! This is a plain utopia, no such country will exist and feeble-minded voters who create the largest part of the electorate make sure the political system will always be dysfunctional.
It may disappoint you, but no such country will see the daylight in the near future.
